Over the last several years, a variety of technologies have converged to create new services and applications that have significantly changed the way people communicate. And by changing the way we communicate, these new applications and services have changed the way we live and work. These converged communications technologies continue to rapidly evolve. For example, in less than a decade we’ve seen email overtake voicemail as the dominate messaging application and then begin to give way to text messaging, IM and social networking. And all of these applications are now readily available on wired and wireless devices. As a society, we are being challenged to continually adopt new modes and channels for our personal and business communications.
CommVerged is a blog site created by Kevin Edwards to explore the world of converged communications. The goal of CommVerged is to provide a forum for a community of bloggers to discuss new and emerging communication technologies and their impacts on society.
